Wikipedia article about SFC Michael G. Stahl
In addition, I am a Navajo Nation–barred attorney, with experience working within tribal legal systems and at the intersection of tribal, state, and federal law. I currently teach law as a volunteer professor at Navajo Technical University, where I am committed to expanding access to legal education and empowering Native students. I am also the co-founder of the LA Law Institute, an organization dedicated to providing free legal education, with the long-term goal of increasing legal knowledge, opportunity, and capacity within Native communities.
Native American advancement and meaningful Native representation are central priorities of my work and service. In a county where Native voices have historically been underrepresented within party leadership, I believe this background and commitment position me to help build trust, strengthen engagement, and ensure that Native communities have real agency within the Democratic Party of San Juan County.
I am deeply invested in strengthening the Democratic Party in San Juan County and am honored to serve as Vice Chair. I am committed to working collaboratively with the Chairman and County Central Committee to support candidates, expand voter engagement, and build a party that reflects and serves the full diversity of our communities.

Brandi McAlexander, Esq.
Vice-Chairman of Democratic Party of San Juan County
My name is Brandi McAlexander, Esq., and I am the newly elected Vice-Chairman of the Democratic Party of San Juan County. I have a long-standing commitment to Democratic values, party-building, and civic engagement at the local, state, and national levels.
My involvement with the Democratic Party began in the early 2000s, when I worked with both the local Democratic Party and the Democratic National Party during the Kerry–Edwards presidential campaign. During that same period, I served as Vice President of the Young Democrats, where I focused on voter engagement, candidate support, and grassroots organizing. I have also previously served as a member of the DPSJC County Central Committee, giving me firsthand experience with the Committee’s work, responsibilities, and internal processes, and allowing me to step into the Vice Chair role with institutional knowledge and continuity.
Professionally, I bring nearly a decade of experience as a lobbyist for the San Juan Independent Practice Association (IPA), where I worked closely with elected officials, policymakers, and community stakeholders on issues affecting our region. This work required coalition-building, strategic communication, and a deep understanding of legislative and regulatory frameworks.
